WE.

WE. was curated alongside Public Annex and local arts and disability activist Sonya Hamilton. Featuring work by six regional artists, WE. reevaluated how disability is addressed within the structure of contemporary arts institutions. WE. proposed that accessibility looks and feels different from person to person, and from place to place. Operating from the standpoint that no person is fully able, Public Annex aimed to create infrastructures that didn't simply consider a diversity of perspectives, but was actually built around responsiveness to the needs of all who contributed. In conjunction with this exhibit, Public ANnex also ran a year-long conversation series at the museum called "Contemporary Trends," where They met monthly to engage and talk about accessibility in the arts with a broad perspective of artists working along the disability spectrum.
